There’s something so exciting about the start of a new year… the anticipation of what might be in store. The making plans and taking stock. A fresh start. It’s one of my favorite times. Here are a few things I’ve been enjoying in 2017 so far…
01 / These Free Weekly Planners. Station Seven is responsible for my blog layout, and I’m a big fan of their work. I just recently discovered they have a page of downloads available for free, with the input of your email address. These weekly planners are so great.
02 / These 10 Tips for Cleaning + Simplifying Home. I’ve been a long-time follower of the homesong blog and I thought this post she put together last week was a wonderful round-up of little steps you can take to clean and simplify at home in the new year. A few of my favorites : Setting up a Donation Bin (I always have a few goodwill bags going!), Making a Space to Unplug, and Setting up Food Delivery. I was reminded to put in an order with the local farm, I had been getting meat and dry goods from over the summer, but slacked off on… Maybe just pick one or two things from the list, and make a change… Starting somewhere is always better than doing nothing at all…
03 / This Study from She Reads Truth. I’ve gone through a few of the She Reads Truth studies over the years, and have greatly benefitted. I’m in the middle of going through their new study Holding Tight to Permanent right now and it has been just the truth my soul needs to hear. A few short passages of Scripture to start and then an excerpt to read and think through.
Here’s a sample :
“Whether we come to Him doubting, praising, weeping, laughing, His Word is for us and it is true. In this ever-fading world, God’s Word never fades. We can approach it in any condition, under any circumstance, and IT IS STILL TRUE.
When our will is weak, God’s Word is true.
When our faith is fragile, God’s Word is true.
When our hearts are heavy, God’s Word is true.
When we wonder if we even believe it, God’s Word is true.
The gospel is permanent, even when our belief buckles under the world’s weight.”

I also highly recommend their Read Through the Bible in a Year plan. I have the app on my phone, and when Sawyer was a baby, it was a lifesaver for helping me read the Bible over the course of that year during feedings. Perfect for moms with little people who don’t have the time or energy to get up early or get a moment’s peace during the day. Check it out!
What have you been loving so far this year? Please share!

I love the She Reads Truth studies and app. I also love Pray As You Go. It has a devotional and music. Perfect for when I can just listen but not read.
