“the dark before the dawn, the storm before the calm,
the cold before the warm, the tears before the song.” — andrew peterson
Music has always played a significant role in my life. It comes with the territory of being raised with a father who is a musician, I suppose. Growing up, we often had music playing in the house. In addition to the music we made ourselves, around the baby grand piano in the front room. Ever since I’ve had my own home, I’ve made it a point to have frequent musical accompaniment. Song has seen me through the darkest days. Surrounded me there. Drawn my gaze upward. Reminded me of truth when I had no words of my own left to sing. I am so grateful for the gift that music is. When my soul is parched, it never ceases to bring relief. Here’s what has been keeping me company lately.
