“You think you will never forget any of this,
you will remember it always just the way it was.
But you can’t remember it the way it was.
To know it, you have to be living in the presence of it right as it is happening…
Speaking of these things tells you that
there are no words for them that are equal to them
or that can restore them to your mind.”

I try to have our family pictures taken every year. As a photographer, I suppose I realize maybe more than most, the importance of documenting the passage of time… I’d like to think I’ll never forget and will always remember; but I know better. And these days and years are slipping through my fingers faster than grains of sand. I’m so grateful we could spend time with our wedding photographer when she was in town this past September. She captured this season of who we are right now so very exquisitely. I couldn’t have asked for a better gift. Years from now, when the rooms of our house are strangely empty and quiet, I’m sure I’ll be poring over these pictures, moments frozen in time, my heart full of gratefulness.
Happiest 2017 from our family to yours.

Megan,
These pictures inspired me to have similar style pics taken of my husband and me at home! We want to remember these happy normal days.
I was wondering, how do you end up using/displaying/saving the photos? Do you have them in an album? I love that lots of them aren’t necessarily ones I want to frame but still definitely ones I want to have easy access to. Just wondering what you do with them when you get them every year 🙂
