about
“God does ten thousand things in every deed. perhaps we know a dozen.
maybe two. but not enough to judge before He’s through.” — john piper
every one of us has a story. varied influences and events and people that make us who we are. often these stories seem nothing but a tangle of knots and unfinished ends. but sometimes… sometimes God pulls back the curtains of providence, just a bit, and allows a glorious peek at the redemption He is working along the way.
and it is breathtaking.
so it is with our story. through cancer and abandonment, financial woes and divorce, He was working. until at just the right moment, He brought a man without a family, and a family without a husband+father together. He is always working. ten thousand things in every act in ways we see or may not know until heaven.
we live in a tiny house just outside the city with six kids and a boston terrier who will smother you with kisses when you walk in the door. most days it feels like we are living on top of each other. there is rarely any quiet and almost always music playing. you’re guaranteed to find crumbs on the floor and fingerprints on the walls and unmade bunkbeds. there are days of sweet peace, and days when we feel this world’s brokenness keenly. yet more often than not, we just feel ridiculously blessed at this life we live. we have learned and are learning and will forever be learning that HE is enough. in loss and in plenty.
