“The day the Lord created hope was probably the same day He created spring.” — Bernard Williams
As I write, there are big puffy snowflakes raining down in a steady stream from the pale gray sky. They are calling for snow accumulation across the region. I’m not gonna lie, I love me a good cozy snow day. It’s just that spring seems so. far. away.
Oftentimes, I find recurring themes in my life… a word, a song lyric, a Bible verse, running through my head on repeat. The past few weeks, that theme has been hope. The idea of holding on. Hanging on. Trusting. Spring and sunshine and warmth and green will come. Grace and mercy, new every morning. No matter how dark, how cold, how hopeless. The light is sure to come. These are the songs that have been my companions recently… Wherever they find you, I pray they bring heart hope.
